Attend the San Antonio River Walk Ford Mariachi Festival: June 22 to 24, 2021

Looking for another reason to visit the San Antonio River Walk?  Get in on a tradition that has been going strong since 1972.  This year, from June 22nd through June 24th, Mariachi bands and Folklorico dancers from local schools will present a unique, floating song and dance spectacular on the San Antonio River. Hike the 15 miles of trails that wind through downtown San Antonio and the historic market square, River Walk is your link to restaurants, shopping, historical attractions, Witte museum, San Antonio museum of art, McNay Art Museum Natural Bridge caverns, japanese tea garden, new braunfels, . san antonio botanical garden, san fernando cathedral and more. For added enjoyment, venture on to the Pearl, a historic district with a farmers market, plaza, unique eateries, pubs, and eclectic sites. Enjoy your surroundings, then find your spot along the San Antonio  riverwalk to enjoy the entertainment as the talented Ford Mariachi Festival performers serenade you on “stage-boats” that glide through the water.  This event is part of Fiesta 2021 and admission is free. Watch Movies by Moonlight at Travis Park: Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in June and July, 2021

Grab your favorite goodies from the local food trucks and gather the family to watch an outdoor movie under the moon at Travis Park in downtown San Antonio.  Held each Tuesday in June and July, the activities for the kiddos begin at 7 p.m., followed by the movie at sundown.  Pop some corn, bring blankets and chairs, and settle in for fun at this free, pet-friendly film festival event. Travis Park is located at 301 East Travis Street in San Antonio and word has it that parking is free after 5 p.m.  

Treat Dad to Fatherfest at Alamo Beer Company: Sunday, June 20th from Noon to 9 p.m., 2021

Dads rule at this summertime attraction that honors the special guys in your life while supporting the Pints for Prostates cause.  Sponsored by Alamo Beer Company, the popular Father’s Day event serves up food, beer, games, and music. While you’re at Alamo for Fatherfest, check out their popular beers that were developed to honor the legacy of San Antonio and the enduring heritage of bold Texans.  With a commitment to responsible stewardship, this independent craft brewery recently announced a variety of sustainable practices that improve the quality of their beer while focusing on healthy, environmentally friendly goals.  Located at  202 Lamar Street in northeast San Antonio, the brewery is open Wednesday and Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from Noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday Noon to 8 p.m.
