We’re Celebrating!

This year marks a milestone we’re proud of: the Hakes Brothers 20th anniversary. What started as two brothers with a shared vision in Las Cruces, New Mexico, has grown into something much bigger. Still, the heart of it has stayed the same. We’ve always believed a new home should be more than a transaction. It should feel personal, well-built, and backed by a team that shows up for you.

Our story officially began in 2006 with a goal to raise the bar for new home construction in Las Cruces, New Mexico. In the early years, we built luxury custom homes. Over time, we shifted toward semi-custom homes that keep the elevated look and feel people love, while staying within reach for more buyers. That pivot helped shape who we are today: a builder focused on thoughtful design, strong value, and long-term satisfaction.

Twenty years later, we’ve helped more than 6,000 families find a home that fits their lifestyle. We’ve grown from our New Mexico roots to add communities across Texas and the Kansas City area. Even so, growth has never been the goal all by itself. The goal has always been to build homes we’re proud of, and to make the experience better for the people living in them.

That experience matters. Building a new home comes with a lot of decisions, timelines, and moving parts. We know it can feel overwhelming at times. That’s why our team puts so much care into communication and guidance, from the first conversation to the day you get your keys, and beyond. We want buyers to feel informed, supported, and excited throughout the process. When it’s done well, it should feel like progress, not pressure.
