Hakes Brothers Team Touring Food Bank in San Antonio

Feature: Hakes Brothers Provides 100,000 Meals Through San Antonio Food Bank

Hakes Brothers was recently mentioned in Builder Online highlighting our contribution to the San Antonio Food Bank to support Texas residents affected by the recent historic snowstorm. The donation was provided as part of our philanthropic initiative to give back to the communities where building takes place. For many years, Hakes Brothers has been involved in ongoing partnerships with local organizations that provide support to families and for the communities at large.

This contribution will support 100,000 meals for those in need, based on estimates that the organization can provide seven meals for every dollar donated.

Hakes Brothers, currently ranked No. 102 on the BUILDER 100’s Next 100, has built over 3,000 homes since its founding in 2006. It is currently the largest home builder based in New Mexico, and recently expanded into the San Antonio market, where it has been building homes for under a year. Through the pandemic and following the snowstorm, the Hakes Brothers team sought an opportunity to help San Antonio’s residents, building on the company’s tradition of local community support.

“Our team witnessed firsthand the effects this natural event had on the local community,” said Dan Nielsen, president of Hakes Brothers, Rio Grande Division. “Our hearts go out to those who have endured hardship in San Antonio and throughout the state of Texas. As a homebuilder, we believe in doing our part to build up communities and provide a positive impact.”

In addition to our contribution, our San Antonio New Home Sales Professionals, Parker Shoaf and Phabian Mascorro, were provided toured the San Antonio Food Bank with Philanthropy Manager, Aniza Lopez.

Hakes Brothers recently entered the San Antonio market and has been selling new homes in the area for under a year. During that time, the Hakes Brothers team witnessed the region’s unprecedented impact from both the pandemic and a historic cold weather event. Since local community support has long been a priority for Hakes Brothers, the homebuilder sought an opportunity to help the residents of San Antonio.
